The St. Cecilia Choir

The St. Cecilia Choir of St. George’s Church is a group of mostly volunteer singers who lend their voices to enhance the beauty of the liturgy. Under the direction of Andrew Krystopolski, the St. Cecilia Choir produces high quality of choral repertoire composed from the late 14th century to present day.
Membership in the choir is based on both the ability to match pitch and read music. While it is understood that everyone approaches sight reading music with different levels of experience, help is always available to any choir member who wishes to improve their basic theory and sight reading skills with the Choirmaster.
The St. Cecilia Choir requires commitment to a somewhat demanding schedule from mid-September to The Feast of Corpus Christi in June.  Members of the choir are expected to attend a weekly rehearsal, Sunday Mass, Holy Days, Feast Days and approximately 2 Evensong Services per year.  Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM followed by sung Compline in the Lady Chapel.

Customarily, our choir sings weekly for the 9:00 Solemn High Mass.

On the “2nd Sunday” of each month, the choir sings for one 10:00 Mass (Rite I or Rite II).

One Sunday a month, the choir sings for both the 9:00 (Rite I) and 11:15 (Rite II) masses.

On days when the choir sings 2 masses, a full breakfast is served in St. George’s House.

Sopranos, altos, bass’ and tenors are always needed. If you are interested in singing, please call Andrew Krystopolski at the Church Office (374-3163) to arrange for an informal audition.
