The St. Cecilia Choir

The St. Cecilia Choir of St. George’s Church is a group of volunteer singers who lend their voices to enhance the beauty of the liturgy. Under the direction of Andrew Krystopolski, the St. Cecilia Choir produces high quality of choral repertoire composed from the late 14th century to present day.
Membership in the choir is based on both the ability to match pitch and read music. While it is understood that everyone approaches sight reading music with different levels of experience, extra help is always available to any choir member who wishes to improve their basic theory and sight reading.
The St. Cecilia Choir requires commitment to a schedule from the Sunday after Labor Day until The Feast of Corpus Christi in June.  Members of the choir are expected to attend a weekly rehearsal and Sunday Mass.    Our choir sings 2 Evensong services per year.  Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  For choristers who are unable to attend Tuesday rehearsals, Super Singers (an extra choir rehearsal) is held every Friday at 11:00 AM in the Choir Room followed by 12:15 PM mass.   Singers who plan to sing with us for mass on Sunday morning, but cannot attend Tuesday or Friday rehearsals, should be vested and ready to sing by 8:55 AM on Sunday.
Our choir sings weekly for the 10:00 AM High Mass (Rite I).  Choir Call is at 9:00 AM.

Sopranos, altos, basses and tenors are always welcome. If you are interested in singing with us, please call Andrew Krystopolski at the Church Office (374-3163) to arrange for an informal audition.
