The Reverend Matthew R. Stromberg has been called and elected as the 19th Rector of Saint George's Episcopal Church, Schenectady.

Father Stromberg is a native son of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and comes to us from Christ Church, Cooperstown where he has been serving as Curate since May of 2014, following his ordination to the priesthood in December of the same year. He has been the sole priest in residence since June of 2015 and has been responsible for all aspects of teaching, preaching and pastoral care, which included renewed activities with the local prison ministry, supporting local rural parishes, feeding the hungry and expanding adult Christian education.

He holds a Masters of Divinity from the Trinity School for Ministry and Bachelor's, cum laude from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.

Father Stromberg, his wife April, and two children, Helen Joy (4) and Isaac Matthew (1) will be arriving in Schenectady, to take up residence in the Rectory, at the beginning of August.
